Assessment and Reporting
At our school, assessment is an integral part of teaching and learning. We use a balanced approach that includes both formative and summative assessments across all Key Learning Areas (KLAs) to support student progress and achievement.
Formative assessments happen regularly in classrooms to monitor understanding, provide feedback, and inform teaching. These include observations, quizzes, discussions, and informal checks.
Summative assessments evaluate learning at key points, such as projects and tests, to measure student achievement against learning goals.
We participate in external assessments including NAPLAN for Years 3 and 5 and Check-in Assessments for Years 3 to 6. Teachers also collect anecdotal observations to track individual progress and wellbeing, helping tailor individualised learning support.
To keep families well-informed, we provide two formal written reports each year—in Term 2 and Term 4—detailing student progress and achievement. Additionally, there are two parent-teacher interview opportunities in Term 1 and Term 3, fostering strong home-school partnerships and open communication.
Our assessment and reporting practices ensure that teaching is responsive, celebrate student growth, and support every learner to reach their full potential.
