Numeracy
Mathematics at Our School (K–6)
At our school, we aim to develop confident, flexible and resilient mathematical thinkers. The Mathematics curriculum from Kindergarten to Year 6 is designed to build students’ understanding, fluency, reasoning, and problem-solving skills across a range of mathematical concepts and real-world applications.
Students explore and develop their numeracy skills through hands-on learning, mental strategies, investigations, and rich mathematical discussions. We encourage curiosity, persistence, and a growth mindset, supporting students to see themselves as capable mathematicians.
The Mathematics curriculum is organised into key strands:
- Number and Algebra – understanding numbers, patterns, place value, and operations
- Measurement and Geometry – exploring shape, space, time, length, area, volume, mass, and angles
- Statistics and Probability – collecting, representing, interpreting data, and understanding chance
We use evidence-based teaching practices, differentiated learning, and a variety of tools and technologies to ensure all students are engaged and supported in their mathematical journey. Our goal is to empower students to apply their mathematical knowledge with confidence in everyday life and future learning.
