Religion and Ethics (K-6)

At our school, we recognise the importance of nurturing students’ spiritual, moral, and ethical development as part of a well-rounded education. Students in Kindergarten to Year 6 have the opportunity to participate in Special Religious Education (SRE) or Special Education in Ethics (SEE), delivered in accordance with the NSW Department of Education guidelines and the updated curriculum frameworks.

Special Religious Education (SRE) is provided by approved religious groups and offers students age-appropriate lessons focused on faith, values, and moral understanding based on specific religious traditions. Parents and carers choose whether their child participates in SRE, and select the religious group most aligned with their family’s beliefs.

Special Education in Ethics (SEE), delivered by trained volunteers from Primary Ethics, provides an alternative for students not attending SRE. The ethics curriculum encourages respectful discussion and critical thinking as students explore moral issues such as fairness, honesty, inclusion, and compassion.

Students not attending either program are supervised and engaged in meaningful activities in line with Departmental policy.

Our approach ensures that:

We value the diversity of our school community and are committed to providing learning experiences that support the personal and ethical growth of all students.
