Principal's Message

“Shaping Extraordinary Humans”

As the proud principal of Beauty Point Public School, it is my utmost pleasure to extend a warm greeting to all students, parents, staff, and visitors to our school.

Here at Beauty Point PS, we are committed to fostering an environment where every individual is valued, respected, and inspired to reach their full potential. Our dedicated team of teachers strives to create a nurturing atmosphere that encourages academic excellence, personal growth, and a lifelong love for learning.

The school has a reputation within the community for providing a quality and well rounded education. The school's academic performance in literacy and numeracy is strong and is supported by a broad educational offering with particular interests in transdisciplinary learning, music, sport and technology. Programs that underpin student learning and wellbeing include Visible Learning, Grow Your MInd,  whole school literacy and numeracy practices and Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL).

We have a strong focus on student wellbeing. The ethos of Beauty Point Public School is built on positive and supportive relationships with students and their families. Staff foster and develop a holistic understanding of each student and nurture learning partnerships between the school, staff, students and wider community. We endeavour to have every student feel known, valued and respected.

We value a diverse cultural community with 43% of students of a language background other than English. There are 29 different languages spoken in homes with Mandarin, Spanish, Italian, Swedish and French as our top 5 languages represented.

We believe in the power of diversity, inclusivity, and collaboration, recognising that each student brings a unique set of talents, experiences, and perspectives to our school community. Building relationships with our families is very important and by embracing diversity, we enrich our collective learning experience and prepare our students to thrive in an ever-changing global society.

As we embark on this journey together, let us uphold the values of integrity, kindness, and perseverance. Let us celebrate our successes, learn from our challenges, and support one another every step of the way.

Beauty Point Public School strives for continuous improvement. Our current Strategic Directions are:

1. Student growth and attainment

To ensure that every student has strong foundations in literacy and numeracy enabling confidence in their ability to learn and adapt. We will continually challenge them to learn and improve.

2. Student agency and wellbeing

To help our students become engaged and proactive learners, we will support them to have clarity about their learning goals and how to achieve them. We will embed an approach to curriculum design that emphasises "big ideas" that span multiple key learning areas and provides opportunities for students to creatively solve real world problems. Finally, we will use the Learning Disposition Wheel as a tool to identify and reflect on the cognitive, interpersonal and intrapersonal dispositions that are necessary to be an effective learner.

3. Clarity and collective efficacy

We aim to have clarity of purpose, organisation and practice to support school improvement. To this end, we will also be embedding systems to support collaborative and evaluative practices. We will implement evidence based strategies to engage and empower parents as partners in learning, continuing to build, strengthen and expand our relationships with the wider local community.

I invite you to explore our website to discover the myriad of opportunities available at Beauty Point Public School, from innovative academic programs to extracurricular activities that cater to a wide range of interests. Together, we will continue to inspire excellence, ignite curiosity, and empower our students to become compassionate leaders of tomorrow.

Also, if you would like to visit our school and see for yourself why we are so proud, our Stage 3 ambassadors are happy to take visitors on guided tours. We believe that our school represents the best that Public Education in NSW has to offer. I look forward to you getting to know our school better and look forward to meeting or catching up  with you soon.

Thank you for entrusting us with the education and well-being of your children. Together, we will make a difference.

Yours in partnership,

Trent Gardiner
