This term we have continued to see our vegetable gardens flourish thanks to the generous support of Landcare and Bunnings Balgowlah. Landcare have donated four new raised garden beds, two to expand the vegetable garden area and another two which have been installed near Mrs Ewan's room. These will be used by Mrs Farrell to support science lessons. Bunnings have supplied the mulch, fertiliser, soil and seedlings to help establish these new gardens. Students in Year 5 were assisted by Lucy from Bunnings Balgowlah last week who helped set up the four new 'no dig' garden beds. This style of garden uses organic matter that rots down into a nutrient-rich soil. Bunnings have also recently donated a worm farm which is being used by students to fertilise our gardens with organic, liquid fertiliser.
