Coming soon – the Father – Son and Daughter Camp

13th & 14th September

One of the signature events in the School Calendar is fast-approaching – the Father – Son and Daughter Camp boys and girls enrolled in years 3 to 6 (2014).

 

Every year, this program is a sellout  because it's fun for the kids and a unique way for Dads to enjoy time with their children in an adventure setting.  In 2013, we had over 150 attend.

  • When -The Camp runs from 10.00 am on Saturday 13th Sept to 3.00pm on Sunday, 14th Sept.
  • What to expect – The Camp is run by professional YMCA instructors who will lead the kids through exciting challenges including: Abseiling, Archery, Cave Maze, Flying Fox, High and low ropes, Giant Swing and Rock climbing. At night, we toast marshmallows on the giant bonfire and someone usually brings along a guitar. 
  • Where - YMCA Camp Yarramundi, Springwood Rd, Yarramundi NSW 2753,  Phone - 1800 024 09 
  • Transport - You are responsible for making your own travel arrangements to and from the Camp. Yarramundi is an hour's drive from BPPS at the foot of the Blue Mountains near Richmond.
  • Accommodation - We'll be staying in cabins and all meals are provided,  Dad's can stay in the same room as their kibs, or with other Dads.  This is allocated on arrival.  The accommodation is clean and comfortable.
  • What to bring - Beds are provided, but you'll need to bring a Pillow and a Sleeping Bag.  A torch would be handy.  Please refer to the newsletter for the complete Gear List.
  • Cost - $145 per person for each child and adult.  This covers all accommodation, meals and soft drinks.
  • Permissions/Booking Form – Pleasecomplete a Booking form (below) for each person and return it to the School via your child.  Adults may leave out personal details on their own form only, but must sign the form.
  • Payment - Please pay online at www.trybooking.com/FQVEorby cheque (payable to BPPS P&C) and attach it to the Permissions form.  Seal these in an envelope and return it via your child to the school.
  • Substitute Dads- If your Dad is unavailable, you can substitute an Uncle or other responsible male adult.  Dads who are already going can also take responsibility for an additional child if they wish.
  • Questions - The event is organised by the P&C.  The organiser this year is Bruce Wren, father of Lachie (Year 6) and Sean (Year 4).  Bruce is reachable at bruce.wren@gmail.com, or on mobile – 0416-100-957.
